1955 Fender Tweed Princeton

1955 Fender Princeton 5E2 in good condition. It has the original Jensen speaker which is also in great condition. Cool amp with a fantastic tone. You can really make this amp roar. This is the "small box" version which means it's the same sized cabinet as the Champ.

This is one of the Princeton's earliest incarnations with a narrow panel and a small cabinet, the same size as a Champ. It has the legendary sound and feel these amps are known for. This amp could not be easier to dial in and it breaks up early giving you delicious tone and crunch at a volume that wont upset the neighbours.

This amp was recently serviced and then double checked in our workshop here in Leeds. When it came in it was missing the back panel so we bought a replacement from Mojotone in the USA. It also already had a 3 pin power cord fitted. We removed the "death cap", the circuit is otherwise all original. Weight 6.16 kg. Serial P00032. Tube chart code EG (July 1955). Original transformers and pots. The pots date to the 43rd week of 54. The speaker dates to the 4th week of 55. The 5Y3 rectifier is made by Amperex, and 6V6 power tube is branded RCA and may be original to the amp. The 12AX7 is branded Ei and made in Yugoslavia. It comes supplied with a new step-down transformer and 30-day warranty.

Condition Good 7.5/10
Serial Number P00032
