The Deluxe was a '70s favourite of Pete Townsend and Scot Gorham. It features two Mini-Humbucking pickups with cream P-90 style mounting rings, a chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece, (*note* the chrome plating has been removed from most of the tailpiece - only a small portion remains on the underside - We are confident that it's original) a 3-way switch with cream Rhythm/Treble ring, 'Gibson Deluxe" stamped Kluson tuners and amber capped 60's style knobs.
It plays very well with a straight neck / low action and the truss rod works correctly. The body finish has a few very light scuffs and dings, mainly to the edges but nothing major. There's also some buckle rash on the back. The back of the neck is extremely clean. The headstock has a few very minor scuffs. The frets are in excellent condition and have been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs.
This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario. Nut width: 43.3 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20 mm. Width at 12th 52.4 mm / Depth 24.7 mm. Weight: 9 lbs 9 oz / 4.34 kg. Only two of the pots have visible dates which are both 21st week of '74.
