The Gibson SG Junior was introduced in 1960. The budget model of the new SG line quickly became a rock and roll workhorse. These were fitted with a dog ear P-90 pickup on a resonant lightweight mahogany body. Matched with a stud wrap tailpiece, the clarity, punch and power made these a favourite of the indie crowd.
This Guitar has numerous scuffs and dings in the finish, mainly around the edges of the body and headstock. The back of the neck is relatively clean. The frets are in good condition having been cleaned up in our workshop and still have plenty of life left in them. It’s the perfect guitar for a wide fat tonal palette that will keep up with the big hitters...
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball regular slinky. Serial number: 280629. Weight: 5 lbs 4 oz. Nut width: 40 mm. Depth at the 1st fret: 20 mm. Depth at 12th 24 mm. The pots date to early 65.
