1969 Fender Precision Bass in very good condition with a sunburst finish, tortoise-shell guard and a rosewood fingerboard. It's a superb bass to play with a fantastic tone and a good weight. (8 lbs 15.5 oz) No thumb-rest or metal covers and one extra screw hole in the pickguard (although no extra hole in the body) It also has a new nut but is otherwise original, including the case. 3-month warranty and 14-day approval period included.
The body finish has a few light scuffs and tiny dings, mainly around the edges but overall it's pretty clean, although the red in the sunburst has faded somewhat. The finish on the back of the neck is relatively free from wear and the headstock has only light wear with just a couple of small scuffs around the top edge. The frets are in excellent condition and have plenty of life left in them. The metalwork has some minor rusting in places.
It's been fully set up in our workshop. The truss works correctly and it has a straight neck and great action. Serial:260429. The neck stamp reads Aug 69 B. The pots date to the 42nd week of 1966 which is common during this period. Also common for the period was the use of leftover black bobbins for the pickups. Nut width: 41.2mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.4 mm. Weight: 8lbs 15.5oz / 4.08 kg. Pickup DC resistance 10.24K.
