1969 Fender Precision Bass, Sunburst

1969 Fender Precision Bass in excellent condition with a sunburst finish, tortoise-shell guard and a rosewood fingerboard. It's a superb bass to play with fantastic tone and nice and light weighing in at 8 lbs 6 oz. The nut has been changed and I suspect a refret although it's difficult to tell as theres no disturbance to the board. If it has been, its excellent work. It's missing the metal pickup and bridge covers. Otherwise original, including the case.

The body finish has a few scuffs and dings around the edges but overall it's extremely clean and the sunburst is still very vibrant. The finish on the back of the neck is free from wear and the headstock has only light wear with just a couple of small scuffs around the top edge. The frets are in excellent condition and have plenty of life left in them.

It's been fully set up in our workshop with the strings it came in with, which I believe, are D'Addario 45-105. The truss works correctly and it has a straight neck and a great action. Serial:226374. The neck stamp reads Mar 69 B. Even though the bass was made in 1969 the pots date to the 31st week of 1966 which is common during this period. Also common for the period was the using up of black bobbins for the pickups. One half of the pickup has black bobbins and the other has the light gray/green bobbins and is date stamped to '69.  Nut width: 41.4mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21 mm. Weight: 8lbs 8oz.
