1956 Fender Precision bass in very good condition, 2 tone Sunburst, Maple fingerboard. Serial16272. Other than the early 80s Fender tweed reissue case it's all original with untouched solder joints. Its extremely light, weighing only 7lbs 13.5oz. V profile maple neck and maple fingerboard with clean frets. There's some buckle rash on the back of the body and some small nicks and dings in the finish. The back of the neck and fretboard itself have light play wear in the finish, mainly in the first position. The headstock and hardware are very clean. It plays and sounds great with a nice low action. It has that really woody, earthy, thumpy tone that makes it a pleasure to play.
Fully set up with a fresh set of D'addario Chrome flat wound strings. It has a straight neck and the truss rod is fully operational in both directions. The pencil date in the pickup cavity reads 8/56. The neck pencil date is 9/56. The date on one pot is just about visible and it dates to the 20th week of 1956, the other pot date is covered in solder. The pickup output is nice and strong. Nut width 43.75 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.85 mm.
