1966 Fender Jazz bass, Sunburst finish in very good condition. Tortoiseshell guard, Rosewood fretboard, original case. This is a transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck, Jazz Bass. This bass is a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. All original and complete with untouched solder and original case. The Sunburst finish has some very fine lacquer checking as well as small dings and scuffs, mainly around the edges. The back of the neck has play-wear through the finish. There are also a few small dings/scuffs around the edges of the headstock. Everything remains structurally sound and all hardware and electronics are in good working order. It has original frets which are in great shape having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop.
The neck is stamped Feb 66 A. Both pickups have original winds and unbroken solder, no dates are visible as the old sponge has completely stuck to the underside. The pots have unbroken solder and all date to early '66. ( 9th and 12th week)
Fully set in our workshop with great action and a fresh set of nickel Rotosound round-wound strings. Serial number: 131869. Weight: 8lbs 11.5oz / 3.96 kg. Nut width: 38.1 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.5 mm. Pickup DC resistance:
