1974 Fender Jazz Bass with a Sunburst finish in very good condition. Maple neck and fingerboard, pearl block inlays and white binding. Aside from the case, it's all original and complete. Supplied in a Hiscox flight case.
This is an excellent bass, with a comfortable neck. I love these mid-70s Jazz basses. I owned one for many years. It has a superb tone, and the growl is fantastic. With both pickups and tone up full, this bass sings with tons of top end, the mids punch through and the bottom end holds it all together.
The red in the sunburst has faded significantly on the front but remains vibrant on the back. There are a few small nicks, dings and scuffs, mainly around the edges of the body, but nothing major. The neck is clean, and the binding is all intact. The frets are clean and wear-free. The truss rod works as it should, and the neck is straight. The headstock has a few small scuffs along the top edge, but is mostly clean.
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of round-wound strings and a smooth medium/low action, giving great playability. Both pickups date to 1974. All 3 pots date to the 5th week of '74. The neck stamp is not visible. Serial: 541889. Weight: 9 lbs 3 oz / 4.17 kg. Nut Width: 38.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22 mm.
