1969 Fender Jazz in Sunburst in excellent + condition, Sunburst finish with a Tortoiseshell guard, a beautiful maple neck with a lovely grain and a dark Rosewood fingerboard with pearl blocks & binding. It was recently re-fretted and the solder on the volume pots touched up, but otherwise all original & complete including the case. All 3 pots date to the 42nd week of 66. (pots dating to 66 are commonly found in Fender basses from 66-69) The pickups dates are not visible as the sponge has stuck to the underside. The bass is all original, the case is slightly earlier, dating to 66. (Fender logo, no tail)
This bass is a great player with a superb tone. There are a few Scuffs and scrapes to the finish, mainly around the edge of the body. The neck and headstock are very clean and the frets are in great shape. All electronics and hardware are in good working order.
The serial number is 254699. This bass is clean overall, although there are a few very small chips and dings around the edges of the body. There's also a small amount of buckle rash but nothing major. The back of the neck is in excellent shape with very little wear. The frets are also in great shape. The bass is set up nice and low with a smooth action and a fresh set of strings. It has a great sound with a warm tone and plenty of growl. This is a great bass to play and balances nicely weighing only 8 lbs 11.5 oz. The truss rod works as it should without issue. The nut width is 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.5mm.
