1966 Fender Jazz bass, Sunburst finish in very good condition. Tortoiseshell guard, Rosewood fretboard, original case. This is a transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck, Jazz Bass. This bass is a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. All original and complete with the original case. Supplied with a 3-month warranty and 14-day returns policy.
The Sunburst finish has some very fine lacquer checking as well as small dings and scuffs around the edges as well as a few on the front face and some buckle rash on the back. The back of the neck has play-wear through the finish along each edge from fret 2-7. There are also a few small dings/scuffs around the edges of the headstock. Everything remains structurally sound and all hardware and electronics are in good working order. The frets are in great shape having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop.
The neck is stamped June 66 A. Both pickups have original winds and unbroken solder, no dates are visible as the old sponge has completely stuck to the underside. The pots all date to early-mid '66. ( 17th and 21st week)
