1965 Fender Precision Bass with a Candy Apple red finish over an Alder body. It has a wide and slim C profile Maple neck with a beautiful dark Rosewood fingerboard which has a 7.25" radius and pearl dots. Non-original case and metal pickup cover, missing finger rest, otherwise original.
This bass has plenty of mojo and is wonderful to play. It has a straight neck and original frets which are in great shape with minimal wear. As you can see this bass has a fair amount of play wear and dings to the finish, there's also a large area of buckle rash on the back. The pickguard is intact and free of cracks. The back of the neck and headstock are relatively clean, with only a little finish wear along the edges of the neck.
This bass has been fully set up by my technician with a really great action and a fresh set of D'addario Chrome 50-105 flat-wound strings. The neck dates to May 1965, The tone pot date is visible and dates to the 20th week 65, the volume pot date is covered in solder. The pickup has original winds, the dates are unreadable. Serial number:L79072, weight: 8lbs 10oz. Nut width: 44.3 mm, depth at 1st fret 21.4 mm.
