1980 Rickenbacker 4001 with a Mapleglo finish in very good + condition. Serial number: TJ 4081. There are a few scuffs and dings in the body finish, mainly around the edges. The back of the neck and the headstock are very clean. All round lovely bass. The control knobs have been replaced. (originals in the case, but a little worn, and one is missing its silver top) The bridge pickup was rewound in April this year by Jaydee Custom Guitars. The truss rods were repaired in 2005 by renowned Birmingham repairman Bob Barry.
Fully set up with a fresh set of strings and a great playing action. The truss rods work as they should, and the neck is straight. The frets are in great shape, showing very little wear. All electronics and hardware are in good working order with no issues. The pots are original, but the dates can't be read as they're covered in solder. The serial dates the production to October 1980. Weight 9 lbs 9 oz / 4.33 kg. Nut width 42 mm. Depth at 1st fret 23.5 mm.
