1972 Fender Jazz Bass, Sunburst

  • Regular price £3,795.00

1972 Fender Jazz bass in fair-good condition. Sunburst finish, rosewood fingerboard, Tortoiseshell guard. The finger rest is missing, and a couple of plastic wires have been replaced with cloth wires. Also, a 0.5 mm section of the neck pocket surface has been sanded away. Supplied in an aftermarket case.  Otherwise, original bass.

This bass has plenty of wear, as can be seen in the pictures, but everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. It has a fantastic neck, which is very clean. The frets are clean and have plenty of life in them. The headstock has a little scuffing along the top edge, but is overall in pretty good shape.

This bass is a joy to play with a superb, even sound right across the fretboard, it has a straight neck, and there's tons of room in the truss rod. It's been fully set up in our workshop and is strung with Rotosound round-wound strings. Weight 8 lbs 15.5 oz / 4.06 kg. Serial: 360111. The neck date is FEB 72. The pots all date from early to mid '72. The pickups are date-stamped 1972. Nut Width: 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22 mm.

Condition Fair-good 6.75/10
