1982 Fender Precision Special, Candy Apple Red finish with a matching headstock. It's in near-mint condition and all original. Supplied in a non-original case. There are a few very tiny scuffs in the finish, mainly around the edges of the body and a couple on the tip of the headstock. The frets are extremely clean with plenty of life left in them. All hardware and electronics are in fine working order. The truss rod is fully functioning.
It has a great medium/low action, having been set up in our workshop with a set of round-wound strings. Serial: G025187. Weight 9 lbs 6.5 oz / 4.26 kg. Nut width 42 mm. Depth at 1st fret 22.5 mm. The neck is dated 1982, as are the pots.
This was Fender's first active bass with a specially developed active circuit (preamp, bass & treble), but it can also be used in passive mode with a passive tone control. Made for only a brief period of time between 1980 & 1982, these awesome basses are becoming increasingly difficult to find & are a definite must-have for any serious collector or player.
