1965 Fender Jazz bass in excellent condition. It has a nitro Sunburst finish with a Tortoiseshell guard and rosewood fingerboard. Except for 1 extra screw hole in the pickguard (and body) from someone re-positioning the finger/thumb rest, this bass is all original and complete, with untouched solder and original case.
This is a fine example of a vintage Fender Jazz bass. The finish is still very vibrant with little fade. There are a few small dings and scuffs in the body finish, mainly around the edges, as well as some buckle rash on the back. It has a fantastic neck with light play wear and a few small nicks. The headstock is very clean with just a few small scuffs, mainly along the top edge. The original frets are clean and in excellent condition with tons of life left.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, it has a straight neck, and the truss rod works correctly. It's been fully set up in our workshop with an easy-to-play medium/low action and a fresh set of La Bella RX-N4D nickel round-wound strings. It weighs 8 lbs 12 oz / 3.98 kg. Serial: 109048. The neck date is OCT 65A, the pots all date to the 42nd week of '65. The pickups have original windings; neither has visible dates. Nut Width: 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21 mm.
