  • Regular price £4,795.00

1979 Musicman Stingray in excellent condition. White finish, black pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2-band EQ, epoxy-coated preamp and through-body stringing.  Apart from a set of new mute pads, a new jack socket and an added ground wire across the pots, this bass is all original and complete. It comes in its original Music Man coffin case with a leather Music Man accessory bag and leather Music Man strap. These cases are prone to cracking and this one has had a few repairs around the bottom edge and the handle.

There are a few small scuffs/dings in the finish, mainly around the edges of the body. The edges also have some slight discolouration possibly from the case lining. The neck is very clean with only some very light wear along one edge (G string side)  The neck is straight and plays smoothly and the truss rod works as intended with plenty of room to move. The frets are in excellent condition with hardly any wear and have been cleaned and polished in our workshop. This is an all-round excellent bass, the sound is warm and punchy. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball round-wound strings and has great action allowing for superb playability up and down the neck.

The serial number is B011677. Weight: 9 lbs 10 oz / 4.36 kg. The body is stamped Apr 16, 1979, the neck stamp is not visible. The pots all date to 1979. ( two to the 4th week and one to the 19th)  Nut width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20mm.

Condition Excellent 8.75/10
