This is a very cool German-built Violin Bass. It's a great player with an excellent warm and woody thump. It has a spruce top with Maple back and sides and a Rosewood fingerboard. All original and complete with the exception of the case and tea cup control knobs. The case and knobs are brand new and ordered directly from Hofner.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe electronics are in good working order and the staple pickups sound great. This Hofner has aged beautifully. It has 22 frets, plus a zero fret for smoother playing, improved intonation, and better sustain. There are a few tiny bits of wear on the front of the body, the back of the body is very clean without any buckle rash.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's been fully set up with a set of short scale flat-wound strings, it has a straight neck and a smooth action. It's nice and light as you would expect weighing only 4lbs 10oz.
