1973 Fender Jazz Bass, Natural

Early 1973 Fender Jazz Bass with a natural finish in good condition. Maple neck and fingerboard with black block inlays and White binding. The wiring/solder work was a mess when we received the bass so we cleaned up the solder on the pots and re-soldered all the joints. The bridge pickup was open circuity so we had it re-wound by Lee Lavarack in Leeds. Professionally refretted and a new nut fitted. Otherwise original including the case and metal covers.

This is an excellent bass, with a nice slim neck. I personally love these Maple neck Jazz basses. I owned one for many years in this very same finish. This bass has tons of tone and the growl is fantastic. With both pickups and tone up full this bass really sings with loads of top-end, the mids punch through and the bottom end holds it all together.

The body finish has some play-wear along with a few scuffs & dings, mainly around the edges. The neck is relatively clean with only a few small marks and the binding is all intact. The frets are very clean having been dressed in our workshop and have plenty of life left in them. The truss rod works as it should and the neck is straight.

Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Rotosound round-wound nickel strings and a smooth medium/low action giving great playability. Serial:363453. Weight: 11 lbs 4oz / 5.17 kg. Nut Width: 38.1 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.4 mm. The pickups and pots date to 73. The pots are all dated 5th week of '73. The neck stamp dates the neck to the 29th week of 71.
