1963 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins - Western Orange

1963 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins - Western Orange finish in excellent condition. We've replaced the mute sponge but other than that this guitar is all original including the cowboy case and leather strap. There is no serial number present which is not uncommon with vintage Gretsch guitars. We have dated the guitar by its CTS pots which all date to early 63. Weight: 7lbs 6.5oz. Nut width 42.3 mm, depth at 1st fret 20.5 mm.

This guitar has been fully checked over & set up in our workshop and is an all-round excellent sounding and playing guitar. Set up with a low action allowing for very smooth movement around the fretboard. It has a big rich tone both plugged in and acoustically. Excellent condition overall with just a few minor nicks, dents & dings. The binding is all intact and unlike a lot of vintage Gretsch guitars shows only very minor deterioration. Theres also one area on the back of the upper cutaway where the binding has separated from the finish.

The maple neck has white binding & red side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl "thumbnail" inlays. The original frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Bound headstock with Gretsch inlaid logo. The closed-back tuners are in perfect working condition. The neck is straight & truss rod functions correctly. Double-bound body, semi-hollow maple body which is double bound with simulated F-holes. Bigsby tremolo tailpiece with Rockin Bar bridge on a floating ebony base. Gold plexi pickguard with Chet Atkins signature & Gretsch logo.

Electronics: Original FilterTron humbuckers with gold bezels. Master volume & individual pickup volume controls with "G" Arrow knobs. 3-way pickup selector, tone filter & standby switches.  All electronics are in good working condition.
